With the headphones the sound volume is approximately double with a lot of the ambient noise such as A/C, fans, those two annoying girls behind me whining is greatly reduced to a point where it is nearly eliminated from the recording. It also eliminated the guy next to me asking me questions(I could hear my responses, but not his questions). It did not eliminate the comments from the lady right in front of me. However, I really appreciate not having to listen to those girls again while reviewing.I run the cord up my right arm and over my right shoulder (I am right handed) and let them dangle on my chest. To ensure directional benefit, I hang one on either side of my neck. There is a slider that can be adjusted to hang in a clear spot. I have noticed no noise from clothing interference.
