The first was too small. The Echo is bigger than the pulse, so pulse cases typically won't work. Another case of not reading the fine print... However, it was worth the wait.I carry my Echo everywhere. It has become an indispensable part of how I take notes or create content for the students in my college classes. However, I needed a better way to transport it than slipping it unprotected into a pocket. This case, which remains closed using a magnet, is just what I needed. It has a pen clasp that allows me to fasten it to my shirt pocket along with my normal pen. (This is a feature it would be nice to see on the Livescribe pens themselves.) I sometimes clip the pencase (with pen) onto the spiral part of a notebook, but it's not completely secure, just a little more convenient. I only do that when the notebook is in a bag, to help me find the pen more easily.PROS: - fits echo, easy to insert, easy to remove - magnetic flap works well enough - clip works well enough (use it on spiral binding, or on a strap to help secure the pen, when sticking out of a smaller purse) CONS: - wish it came in other colors (black "hides" easily) - the clip could be better designed and engineered - the magnetic closure could be a bit stronger (pen fits snugly, so it's more of a distraction that the flap isn't always closed) - wish it had a record button permanently attached (I'm thinking of buying the stickers and tagging the case somehow) Overall, while it could be somewhat better, it protects my other items from pen... A $200 pen is something you will want to protect and keep track of, which means the case is a great idea whether you're a student who generally tosses it in your bag (as I do) or the kind of person who carries it around clipped inside your pocket (as my roommate does). The price bothered me at first, but after two months I'm convinced it was well worth it. |
